In 2004, Mrs. Majorie Benson, a retired teacher in the Jackson Madison County Tennessee area, saw the need for a place in the community that people could gather on special occasions. As a visionary, Mrs. Benson approached the family known as the Atwater's, who had donated land to Madison County Tennessee to put an elementary school on the property. However, the school was closed in the 70s. The Atwater's cut out a 2-acre parcel and sold it to Mrs. Benson. Out of this idea birthed what is called today, " East Madison County Community Association" .
